SEGi College Penang is proud to celebrate the achievements of two students from the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) programme, Syawalhida Elyanie Azman and Yeoh Zhi Wei, who successfully presented their research at the 3rd Research Officers National Symposium (REONS 2026), held on 12–13 August 2026 at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).
🔹 Syawalhida Elyanie Azman
“Lived Experiences of Young Adults Using AI Chatbots for Mental Health Support: A Phenomenological Approach”
🔹 Yeoh Zhi Wei
“Understanding the Perceived Functions and Effects of Slang in Undergraduate Students’ Communication”
Their research explored two timely areas in psychology — the evolving role of AI chatbots in mental health support and the influence of slang on communication among university students. Both topics reflect how psychology continues to evolve alongside changes in technology, communication, and society.
