The head of information technology at SEGi Education Group, Chan Sow Boon, is helping me try out a new augmented reality headset. In line with the digital revolution, HCK Capital, SEG International and my private Hiichiikok Group of Companies have been upgrading their IT facilities as well as up-skilling the entire workforce, We have even called in consultants to help out across the group, guiding our employees on the use of Al in relation to their job scope. AI is a tool that can really make things better, faster but only if utilized the right way.

In education, I have been telling my deans and academic staff that classroom teaching has to evolve. Presentation through PDF files and Powerpoint slides aren’t acceptable anymore. The learning process and experience have to be more interactive and engaging. Even for property development, the process of sales, construction, project and end financing needs to be seamlessly connected to create an efficient ecosystem for all stakeholders.

Underlining our digital efforts are several apps we have created to help define the new and innovative approaches we do things. For me, this small moment of trying on an AR headset is symbolic of a much larger and longer journey. It reflects our willingness to adapt, stay curious and prepare our organization for the future that is already unfolding rapidly around us. Innovation grows where curiosity and courage meet.
