HCK Capital Group has earned another prestigious accolade, receiving the Excellence Award under The Urban Renewal Award – Best Transformation Project (Mixed Development) at the StarProperty Awards 2026. This award recognises exemplary urban regeneration projects that transform, revitalise, or repurpose abandoned or underutilised real estate into impactful developments.
Receiving the award on behalf of HCK was Datuk Dr. Dennis Ling, Group Managing Director, Operations & Group Management of HCK Capital Group, with the award presented by Mr. Chan Seng Fatt, Group Chief Executive Officer of Star Media Group Berhad, at a ceremony that brought together key players across Malaysia’s property development industry.

The StarProperty Awards annually honour developers who demonstrate excellence across areas such as design, sustainability, and community impact. HCK’s recognition under The Urban Renewal category highlights the Group’s strength in delivering meaningful transformations that restore value, confidence, and purpose to dormant developments.
edumetro, located in Subang Jaya, stands as a compelling example of successful urban renewal. Formerly known as Remix 2, the project was once a stalled development that left purchasers in prolonged uncertainty. HCK stepped in to revive and reimagine the site, transforming it into a fully integrated mixed-use development anchored on education, connectivity, and commerce.

Completed in 2023, edumetro has evolved into a vibrant, self-sustaining ecosystem. Anchored by SEGi College, the development attracts a steady flow of students, educators, and professionals, supported by a complementary mix of retail and lifestyle offerings that drive activity throughout the day.
Beyond restoring confidence among existing owners, the transformation has reactivated the surrounding urban fabric, contributing to the area’s economic and social vibrancy. This recognition reflects HCK Capital Group’s continued commitment to responsible urban regeneration and building future-ready communities.
During the Awards Ceremony, YB Tuan Nga Kor Ming, Minister of Housing and Local Government, highlighted the importance of reviving abandoned housing developments, noting that “since December 2022, the special task force on Sick and Abandoned Housing Projects has successfully revived over 1,500 projects with a gross development value (GDV) exceeding RM140 billion, restoring hope for more than 176,000 homebuyers”.
Building on the success of edumetro, HCK is also set to revive Remix 1, now renamed Subang Sentral, as edumetro’s neighbouring development. The project will bring renewed hope to long-stalled buyers while unlocking new opportunities within the growing Subang Jaya education and lifestyle hub.
