Damansara Medical EduHub (DMEH), SEGi University’s platform for healthcare education and collaboration, welcomed a delegation from Mahidol University to explore potential opportunities in healthcare education, lifelong learning and academic exchange.

The engagement was chaired by Datin Professor Dr Mariani binti Md Nor, Vice-Chancellor of SEGi University. Professor Dr Srikumar Chakravarthi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic, Research and Innovation, provided an overview of SEGi University and its integrated healthcare education ecosystem.

The dialogue was initiated and coordinated by Professor Dr Tey Kim Kuan, Director of DMEH, together with SEGi University’s Health Sciences Deans and faculty representatives.

During the discussion, representatives from both institutions explored opportunities to enrich students’ learning experiences through mobility and exchange programmes, free elective modules, short courses, academic enrichment activities and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

DMEH also shared its role in connecting students, academics, healthcare professionals, industry partners and communities. Through these connections, the platform aims to create meaningful learning experiences while strengthening engagement across healthcare education and professional development.

The dialogue further highlighted the potential for sustained academic engagement between SEGi University and Mahidol University through future initiatives and areas of shared interest.

As part of the visit, the Mahidol University delegation toured SEGi University’s Health Sciences facilities, including the Faculty of Optometry and Vision Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry. The tour showcased SEGi’s healthcare education ecosystem, specialised facilities and emphasis on practical, hands-on learning.

The visit marked a meaningful step towards strengthening international academic connections and creating new opportunities for future healthcare professionals to learn, collaborate and contribute to the global healthcare community.
