Mr. Ong Chou Wen
Deputy Managing Director
Mr. Ong is a veteran in the real estate industry, having helmed senior management positions in a number of major companies. Prior to joining HCK, he was the Chief Operating Officer of Southville City Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mah Sing Group Berhad. At Southville City, he was responsible for re-planning and re-branding of the 428 acres of Southville City Masterplan, including its future developments with enhanced GDV worth more than RM11.0 billion. Mr Ong earned his Diploma in Architecture from University Technology Malaysia in 1992. He went on to pursue BA (Hons) and diploma leading to a MA degree in Architecture from University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. Mr Ong’s first exposure to project development was with Putrajaya Holdings, where he took on a variety of portfolios, ranging from Project Architect, Design Manager, Technical and Operations Manager, and Project Manager. When he was a Project Director of Development Division at UEM Sunrise Bhd, he oversaw the development of numerous projects, including 11 Mont’Kiara, AngkaraRaya at KLCC, and the inaugural Sunrise branded mixed-use development namely Teega in Puteri Harbour, Nusajaya. Ong is a registered graduate member of Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia and Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia.
Mr. Leong Choong Wah
Executive Director, Corporate Services
Mr. Leong heads the group’s corporate services departments covering Accounting & Finance, Tax, Secretarial and Information Technology (IT). He is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and Australia Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA Aust). He has over 26 years of extensive working experience in management, accounting, finance and corporate planning in the property development, oil & gas, manufacturing and plantation industry both private and public listed entities. He was previously attached to a palm oil plantation group based in Jakarta, Indonesia as their Senior Business Controller, Chief Operating Officer/ Finance Director of Malaysia Pacific Corporation Berhad, Chief Executive Officer of Petaling Tin Berhad, Chief Financial Officer/ Executive Director of FACB Industries Incorporated Berhad and several other companies listed on the Bursa Malaysia.
Mr. Clifford Hii
Group Executive Director
Mr. Clifford Hii, a legal practitioner admitted to the Bar of Sabah and Sarawak, graduated with a Bachelor of Law Degree from the Queensland University of Technology, Australia.
He also graduated with Masters of Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland. He has served in senior positions in management and media firms prior to joining HCK Capital Group.
Mr. Foong Peng Yew
Chief Executive Officer, Properties
Mr. Foong graduated with a Honours Degree in Building Economics & Quantity Surveying from the United Kingdom in 1982. He is a registered Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors Malaysia and a Chartered Quantity Surveyor registered as a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), United Kingdom. He has extensive experience in the property and construction sectors, having held key senior managerial positions in companies like Pilecon Engineering Bhd, Visage Group and Mayland Group. Among others, he had overseen the development and construction of the 28-storey Office Tower for Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka in Kuala Lumpur and a Fishing Port in Batu Maung, Penang. In the Mayland Group, he oversaw the development and construction of projects with a cumulative GDV of over RM1 billion.
Mr. Lee Kok Cheng
Chief Executive Officer, Education Division
Mr. Lee has had a long and illustrious career in the education industry. He had served as Deputy Group Managing Director of SEG International Bhd which runs the SEGi University and Colleges. He had also served as the CEO and COO of the leading tertiary education group. In 2007, he started SEGi’s flagship campus, Kota Damansara as the Principal until the campus was upgraded to University College in 2008. Mr. Lee was instrumental in implementing many e-applications to replace paperwork for the accounting, human resource and information technology functions. In July 2010, he was honored an Outstanding Entrepreneur Award at the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards. Mr. Lee obtained his BSc (Hons) Computer Science from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 1985 and thereafter in 1996, he obtained his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Dubuque, Iowa, United States of America. In 2009, Mr. Lee graduated with a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Research from the University of Newcastle, Australia as part qualification on a DBA programme.
Dr Dennis Ling PhD
Chief Operating Officer, Properties Division
Dr Ling holds a Ph.D in Manufacturing Engineering and a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical and Manufacturing from University of South Australia in 2006 and 1999 respectively. Prior to joining HCK Properties, Dr Ling has been working in various industries in Australia including semiconductor, automotive and building materials manufacturing. He was exposed to various roles from engineering, procurement, product development and project management. His experience in property involves composite building materials technology and property procurement and property management.
Mr. Clive Rogers
Founding Principal, Peninsula International School Australia, Setia Alam
Originally from the United Kingdom, Rogers has been an educator for over 42 years, having spent time in the UK as an advisor, whilst leading schools in Asia, Middle East, Europe and the Caribbeans. Over the last ten years, he was heavily involved in starting international schools across the region. Rogers is very passionate about building schools that reflect the needs of 21st-century education.
Ms. Adeline Hii
A chartered accountant by training, she received her Masters of Commerce and Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) from Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane. She’s registered as a Chartered Accountant with the Malaysia Institute of Accountants and is a Certified Practicing Accountant of CPA Australia LTD .MsHii used to head the Audit Department of an Australian Chartered Accountant firm, specializing in Solicitors, Real Estates and Travel Agencies Trust Accounts. She was also a senior tax agent and auditor with 10 years experiences in the same firm which has over 1,000 clients. Subsequently she joined HCK Capital Group where she was the Director for Finance .
Mr. Jonathan Chong
Director of Operations, HCK Education
Mr Chong brings more than 10 years of experience to the Education division as he held many senior positions in various industries including education, IT, printing press and advertising. After getting his Masters from Australia, he started an IT business before moving into strategic planning. With strong business and operation understanding of the K-12 education landscape in Malaysia and Singapore, he was part of various strategic teams which set up new campuses and international schools.
Mr. Dan Loh
Chief Executive Officer, Media Divison
Mr. Loh is a self-confessed “serial entrepreneur and marketing professional” with 20 years of experience. He started as an entrepreneur sourcing and importing electrical products for some well-known brands in Malaysia. He was also in wholesale business, and for a few years ran a few retail outlets. In between Mr Loh had worked in Osram as a senior commercial executive; Winstar Group as an Executive Director in a subsidiary; and Metrix Research as their head of marketing.

Charles Raj has more than 30 years experience in journalism. He started his career with The New Straits Times. Prior to joining Focus Malaysia in 2012, he was Editor of Malaysian Business magazine for 12 years. He was also Senior Editor of Berita Publishing SdnBhd, where besides Malaysian Business, he oversaw its other magazines.

Former APAC director of Frost & Sullivan with over 20 years experience in the public and private sectors. Previously based with a credit bureau (now called RAMCI) and the Government’s National IT Agenda secretariat. Mr. Prathab holds an MBA (Finance) and a B Sc.
Mr. Law Hun Wei Joshua
Director, Technology Division
Born in 1973, Law Hun Wei has had an impressive career in the information and communications technology sector. Before joining HCK Capital Group, he was a Product Development Manager in Teneo Technologies Sdn Bhd, a start-up tech company, whose core products include web content management system and email marketing software. Law had worked in start-ups as well as public-listed companies in Malaysia, Singapore, and Australia in areas like Internet Kiosk Solution, IT Services Outsourcing, E-learning, R&D, System Analysis and Web Design. Such wide experience in numerous areas would help add value to HCK Capital Group’s diversified businesses. He graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Information Studies (majoring in Computing) from University of Technology, Sydney in 1996.
Mr. Teo Tien Su
Mr Teo has more than 25 years experience in the food & beverage industry. He started his career with Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur’s F&B division in 1990 where he stayed for five years. He then moved to Coast Fusion Restaurant as manager between 1996 to 1998. Between 1998 and 2002, he was with Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, where he served as store manager before being promoted to area manager. He subsequently moved to Gloria Jean’s Coffee in 2002 as area manager and subsequently, operations & development manager.
Mr. Mak Ngan Hoe
Head of Investments
Mr. Mak has more than 18 years of experience in the fields of corporate finance, corporate planning, treasury, investment analysis and investor relations. He has worked across various industries including stockbroking, banking, property development and resort operations in both private and public listed entities.
Mr. Lee Kee Hin
Director, Corporate Creative Marketing
An MBA holder from the University of Southern Queensland specialising in Strategic Marketing, Mr Lee had prior to this, worked in another public-listed company which was also involved in properties and education. Among others, he managed the group’s brand communications. Before that, Lee had spent close to 10 years in SEGi University and Colleges in the creative communications department. His stint there coincided with the tertiary education provider leapfrogging to become a major player in the industry. He had also managed the internal servicing and research team within SEGi’s Group Marketing.
Mr. Chow Kum Hor
Director, Corp Comm & Content
A former award-winning journalist, he had worked for local as well as foreign news outlets. He subsequently served in the government, working in the upper echelons in the Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Youth and Sports in Putrajaya. He is now also the Executive Director for Centre For A Better Tomorrow, an advocacy group for moderation and good governance.

Mr. Daniel Teng
Group Senior Executive Director
Daniel Teng has over 30 years of working experience in the Information Technology (IT), Telecommunications and public sectors where he has a strong track record for strategy execution at senior leadership level. In the IT and Telecoms sectors, he led and developed teams in corporate and consumer sales, international and domestic wholesale, product management and business development. In the public sector, he contributed to the establishment of Malaysia’s principal hub tax incentive to attract more multinational companies to locate their regional headquarters and create high value jobs in Malaysia. He graduated with a Diploma in Commerce from Tunku Abdul Rahman College in 1984 and completed his MBA from the University of East Asia in 1992. He attended the Mt Eliza Business School Strategic Leadership Program in 2001 and the Harvard Business School ASEAN Senior Management Development Program in 2007.
Ms. Hew Moi Lan

Ms. Hew is a fellow member of The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, United Kingdom and a Chartered Accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. In 2005, she attained her Master of Business Degree from University of Newcastle, Australia.
Her tenure with the Group dates back to 1986 when she joined Systematic Business Training Centre, now known as SEGi College Kuala Lumpur. With more than 25 years of experience in the education industry, Ms. Hew has brought an immense wealth of experience and knowledge into running of the Group. In March 2013, Ms. Hew was honoured aLeadership in Education & Training Excellence Award at the Global Leadership Awards.
Ms. Cheryl Chong Poh Yee
Group Chief Financial Officer
Cheryl Chong joined the Group in 2000 and has over 20 years of experience in the fields of accountancy, financial services and corporate services. Prior to SEGi, Cheryl worked for a main board public listed company in Malaysia as the Financial Controller and in one of the top international accounting firms. She is a Certified Public Accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a Chartered Accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. Cheryl also holds a Master of Business Administration (International Business) Degree from University of Southern Queensland, Australia.
Dr. Lisa Tan Saw Poh
CEO, SEGi Group of Colleges
Dr. Lisa Tan holds a DBA from University of South Australia and MBA from the University of Bath, UK. She also has a Diploma in Education from National University of Singapore and B.Sc (Hons) from the University of London. Dr. Lisa has worked with the Singapore Ministry of Education and private institutions of higher learning for more than twenty (20) years and has vast experience in the field of education and management. Her experience also stretches to governmental bodies in Malaysia, China, Philippines, Vietnam and Ghana, Africa.
Dr. Doris Pamela Alexius

Dr. Doris Alexius holds a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Madras University, India, a Master of Business Administration in International Business from RMIT, Australia and a Doctor of Business Administration from University of Newcastle, Australia. A science graduate trained in genetics, microbiology, laboratory technology and biochemistry, she diversified to complete her MBA to gain a business perspective in managing Allied Health Science programmes. Her Doctoral research is on ethics and corporate social responsibility. Dr Doris Alexius has over 20 years experience as a tertiary educator and administrator.
Mr. Cheah Teong Keat

T.K. Cheah was formerly in the IT and manufacturing industry before his foray into the education line. Since then, he has been involved in lecturing, training and human capital development. Some of his initiatives include setting up and running a human capital development business for a renowned education group and heading an educational institution which focuses on working adults and post graduate courses. His previous appointments include Senior Director of Post Graduate Studies for the INTI Education Group and Chief Operating Officer of MIM-INTI Management Institute. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from RMIT University, and an MBA specialising in Information Technology Management from Maastricht School of Management. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Business Administration from University Utara Malaysia.
Dr. See Hoon Peow

Dr. See holds a PhD in Sociology and Anthropology from International Islamic University Malaysia, Master of Philosophy in Sociology from University of Malaya and LLB (Hons) from University of Glamorgan (now known as the University of South Wales). He has extensive work experience in the education industry with exposure in academic and business operations. His wide academic interest in humanities and social sciences resulted him to publish many books and papers locally and internationally with reputable publishers and journals.
Ms Doreen D’orville

Doreen D’orville holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland and a BA (Hons) in Business Administration from a UK university. She is also a certified trainer and has conducted training for several multinational companies. She has over twenty-five years of experience in education in areas of administration, teaching and management. She believes in inspiring students with renewed enthusiasm and passion for learning to bring out the best in them.
Norman Chu Su Jiu
Principal, SEGi College Kota Damansara
Mr. Chu holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University, USA. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Business Administration with Universiti Utara Malaysia. Norman has 4 years of industry experience as a Civil Engineer in both the USA and Malaysia before joining SEGi in 2005 as a lecturer for Civil Engineering programme. He then became the Head of the School of the Built Environment, Deputy Registrar and then Registrar before assuming his current position in July 2013. He is an Associate Member of the American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE) and a Graduate Member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
